Job boards and social media are your best friends for hiring a PPC expert. Job boards are highly effective for finding qualified digital marketing candidates, significantly increasing your chances of hiring a great professional. Besides, most HR departments have been creatively using social media for their recruiting needs, finding candidates who are not on job boards.
I’ve listed 10 heavyweight online job boards and social media platforms that will be fantastic for posting your job openings and scouting for your next PPC expert.
1. Indeed
Indeed is a job search engine that shows jobs from thousands of employers in the U.S. and abroad. Their website scours over 70,000 job boards and company websites daily to deliver the latest news and information about available jobs in your area.
Indeed can help you find candidates for any digital marketing roles you may have open, especially those who may be hard to find on other job boards, such as Facebook and Twitter.
2. Glassdoor
Glassdoor is a US-based platform better known for allowing professionals to review companies anonymously. People can do it as either current or former employees, making Glassdoor a ‘corporate Yelp’ with more than 600,000 businesses already reviewed.
Moreover, Glassdoor has become a prominent job board. It matches candidates with millions of open jobs, especially in the U.S. and Canada. Among its features, Glassdoor allows users to compare their salaries with those for similar jobs on the platform.
3. LinkedIn
More than 250 million members use LinkedIn in more than 200 countries. It is incredibly efficient for networking with other professionals, exploring career opportunities, and researching companies.
LinkedIn also allows you to advertise jobs on a pay-per-click basis. Then their algorithm analyzes members’ profiles and puts your jobs in front of ideal candidates in their feeds, rather than having them search for you.
Another paid product called LinkedIn Recruiter gives you unlimited access to every LinkedIn profile, 150 monthly InMails to reach out to talent, premium search, hiring workflows tools, and more. LinkedIn also offers Recruiter Lite, a simpler version of the same product.
4. Twitter
Two billion people use Twitter each month, and half of the world’s population visits the site. Your next hire might be among these people, so ensure your brand’s account is active and posting regularly. In addition, tweeting about your open jobs will be efficient if you communicate your company culture and use hot hashtags so people can easily find you.
Most important is not judging candidates if they don’t tweet about their careers. Some people only post about their private lives, so use Twitter as a starting point for your research and leave your skill assessment for the interview.
5. Facebook
Facebook users connect in more than 100 languages, covering over 1 billion people worldwide, and posting over 200 million daily updates. Just as you would do with Twitter, use your Facebook fan page or company profile to reach out to candidates.
In my experience, I’ve seen people share more about their work on Facebook than on other social media, so it might be helpful to get an idea of your candidates. But again, try not to be judgmental if they don’t post about work.
Besides, Facebook enables you to create and post job posts on your company page in the Help Center. And like any other Facebook post, you can easily boost the job opening to target your best audience.
6. We Work Remotely
We Work Remotely is designed to connect digital marketers with companies needing remote workers at any level of experience, from entry-level to executive management. The website uses various tools, including social media and technology platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Skype, to find the ideal fit for your company’s remote job positions.
7. FlexJobs
FlexJobs is a job board with 7 million members, connecting employers with 3 million candidates in the U.S. and Canada for over 25,000 occupations in over 200 job categories. Besides this enormous scope, FlexJobs allows companies to outsource their job search to consultants who’ll help them find new career opportunities. FlexJobs also specializes in finding remote workers, which can be pretty handy in digital marketing.
After you find the right job boards and social media and start advertising your job opening, you should receive tons of résumés. So it’s time to sit down and screen the best candidates—but this is the subject of my next article.
8. Slack
Slack is a team communication software that features instant messaging and file-sharing capabilities. Besides, Slack groups allow you to create communities for your followers to join. You might have seen these groups already: some have thousands of members.
We strongly advise you to join groups aligned with your needs (by skill set or vertical) and start talking to professionals. You can use slofile, a search engine for Slack groups.
What about you? Let me know which hiring platforms or social media you use to attract new talent.
